Marsha came to Utah from Yucaipa, California at least 100 years ago. She graduated from Brigham Young University in Education and has spent her time here teaching elementary school, riding her horses, and singing in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. She always said when she retired from the choir she wanted to learn the banjo and play in a bluegrass band. So when that happened, with her friends, Firewood Band was born. She still sings various places, teaches school now and then, works on her farm, and teaches guitar to anyone who wants to learn. Marsha plays the guitar, bass, banjo, jew's harp and is learning other instruments. .
